CARERS SA Mount Gambier hosted a morning tea at Thyme at the Lakes recently to coincide with World Mental Health Day.

“We were successful in receiving grant funding to host a morning tea to support local carers and reduce stigma around mental illness,” Carers SA team leader Sandi Seymour said.

Around 40 attendees travelled from as far as Naracoorte to hear from guest speakers Richard Dalefield, Sovina Olle and mental health nurse Philip Galley.

“We travel from Bordertown to the coast supporting carers and we had people from across the Limestone Coast attend the morning tea,” Ms Seymour said.

“Philip Galley spoke about his 30-year career as a mental health nurse and he was an excellent speaker.”
