2000 Volkswagen Beetle

RECENTLY moving to the “big smoke”, Cassidy Eilysh is now zooming the Adelaide streets in her midnight blue 2000 Volkswagen Beetle.

Filled with fun and unique features, Ms Eilysh has always loved the Beetle style.

“My mum had a Beetle when she was 16 and my grandpa had one when he was around that age as well,” she said.

“I have always wanted one because of that but also because of how cool they are.

“When I got one I was very very happy.”

Receiving the car in late December 2016, Ms Eilysh said the vehicle was the first and only one she has owned.

“My parents found it as one of their friends was selling it for their daughter,” she said.

“They saw it and thought of me straight away.

“I learnt to drive in the vehicle mostly which is handy as it is manual transmission.”

Ms Eilysh said learning to drive manual was important.

“It is just an extra skill you never know you might need one day,” she said.

“Although it was difficult at the start which meant I drove my mum and dad’s automatic car sometimes.”

Standing out in the school carpark last year, Ms Eilysh said her friends always wanted to cruise in her car.

“Even now it seems I am always driving people around because everyone just seems to love my car,” she said.

“They always ask to take my car and I do not mind.

“It has been the beach, Adelaide and lots different places and road trips.”

Ms Eilysh said the sunroof, shiny rims and unique Volkswagen flower that comes with all Beetles were among her favorite features.

“I love the sunroof because its so refreshing when you are driving along in the hot weather,” Ms Eilysh said.

“I like the rims too and they seem to go with the car nicely.”

The modern stereo system was also a bonus for Ms Eilysh when she received the vehicle.

“It is really good and has a AUX cord which I need to connect my phone with,” she said.

“I use it all the time.

“I also love the grey upholstery too because I just do not think I can get sick of it.”

Ms Eilysh wants to hold onto her “classic European bug” for as long as she can.

“I do not see myself giving it up anytime soon,” Ms Eilysh said.

“It is European so has the indicator and wiper blade handles on the opposite sides to one another.

“When my drives it he has the wiper blades going as it can be confusing sometimes.”
