ON THE ROAD: Seven tonnes of donated KCA tissue and paper products are bound for fire victims on Kangaroo Island and the Adelaide Hills.

THREE of the region’s major enterprises have come together to bring seven tonnes of donated tissue and paper products to fire victims on Kangaroo Island and the Adelaide Hills.

The essential household items were made at the Kimberly-Clark Australia Millicent Mill and trucked free of charge by K&S Freighters to Adelaide for distribution by Foodbank.

K&S Freighters regional manager Andrew McDonald said he liaised with Millicent Mill manager Adam Carpenter.

He said the load sent from Mount Gambier was a combination of different products, such as tissues.

“Kimberly-Clark Australia and K&S Freighters have had a long-standing prosperous relationship, “Mr McDonald said.

“When they approached us several weeks ago about transporting donated goods to Foodbank in Adelaide to assist victims of the bushfires, it was not a matter of if we can do it but when.

“At no expense to the mill, the donated goods were recently loaded and transported to Adelaide where they will go to those that need them most.

“This is just another example of the generosity that runs deep in the South East, led by one the region’s biggest organisations.”
