PENOLA HIGH SCHOOL DUX: Phoebe Tregenza has been named the dux of this year at Penola High School with an ATAR score of 91.3.

PENOLA High School student Phoebe Tregenza has topped the class with an outstanding Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) of 91.3.

Phoebe received A grades for English and her research project and B+ grades in chemistry, physics and mathematics methods.

The high-achiever has won the year level Dux award every year since starting as a Year 8.

“When I looked at my results this morning I was really excited and happy with how it all turned out,” Ms Tregenza said.

“It is really great to see that all my hard work has paid off.”

Penola’s Brooke Hutchesson received a final score of 87.75 after achieving A grades in English, information processing, health, and a research project, as well as media studies undertaken via Open Access College.

“I hope to go to university in 2021 to study a Bachelor of Secondary Education and Arts,” she said.

Year 12 student Kate Skeer achieved A grades in four subjects including English, visual arts, information processing and her research project and a B+ for child studies.

“I am very relieved and proud … I will be having a gap year and hope to study nutrition or communication and media,” Ms Skeer said.

Penola High School principal Ngaire Benfell praised all students for their dedication.

“The commitment of these students has paid off, demonstrating great results are achieved through hard work,” she said.

“The motivation to reach your goals and the strong support our students receive from all their teachers.”
