EXHIBITION OPEN: April Hague, Judy Christensen and Sonya Mezinec attend the official opening.

COMMUNITY members gathered at Gallery 54 to attend a new exhibition which opened this month, showcasing the work of three printmaking groups.

Artists from The Firestation Print Studio Melbourne, Bathurst Street Printmakers Sydney and Thumb Print Workshop Inc from Mount Gambier collaborated to produce an exhibition of lino-cuts titled Home.

The 39 artists’ interpretation of the theme is varied and imaginative and also demonstrates the versatility of the lino cutting technique.

Several of the artists were also present at the opening, showcasing a range of printing techniques.

President of the Thumb Print Workshop Inc, Ruth Schubert, also spoke at the opening.

The exhibition will be open to the public at the gallery until December 2.

An exhibition of miniature artworks created by Gallery 54 members will also officially open on December 8.

The Little Gems exhibition showcases sculptures, drawings, paintings, prints, ceramics, wood, textiles and jewllery from
around the region.

The opening will take place at the local gallery from 2pm with guest speaker Serena Wong from the Riddoch Art Gallery.

Guests will also be entertained throughout the afternoon with music from Tom Foote.
