FANTASTIC FUNDING: Penola Men’s Shed members celebrate the recent funding announcement which will go towards a kitchen upgrade.

PENOLA’S Men Shed has received almost $6000 to upgrade its kitchen facilities.

The funding was received through the Federal National Shed Development Program, with Member for Barker Tony Pasin congratulating the group on the windfall.

“I am pleased the Penola Men’s Shed will now be able to boost their shed’s resources with this funding,” Mr Pasin said.

“Belonging to a social group is vitally important for emotional and mental health and the local Men’s Shed is an important place for men to meet up and participate in meaningful projects.”

Mr Pasin said in order to stay healthy residents need to participate in regular activities and stay connected with those around them.

“This is why the local Men’s Shed has become an important part of the Penola community,” he said.

“Men are known to bottle things up and Penola Men’s Shed is encouraging men to reach out for the support they need for better health and wellbeing.

“It is great for them but also their families and the wider community.”
