MILLICENT’S smallest residents tried their luck at a number of giant games as part of last week’s 2019 Youth Week celebrations.

The Civic and Arts Centre’s grassed area was transformed into an outdoor games arena when the Millicent Girl Guides offered connect four, eight ball, mini golf, chess and limbo to young community members.

The creative outdoor activities incorporated adventure, therapy in fun and keeping active with games, puzzles and challenges for youth.

Millicent resident Chris Edmonds praised the Wattle Range Council’s efforts in hosting the events, which coincided with school holidays.

“It has been fantastic and really great for young people in the community,” she said.

“These are free activities that give the children something hands on and interactive to do.”

Over 100 youths took part in Youth Week initiatives.

The variety of free activities and events aimed to give people the opportunity to express their ideas and views, and act on issues that impact their lives while enjoying themselves.
