THE Federal Government will spend $200,000 towards the rebuild of the Nangwarry Football Club after it was completely destroyed by a suspected arson attack earlier this year.

Member for Barker Tony Pasin announced the grant at a public meeting in Nangwarry on Wednesday night.

Mr Pasin said the club was the heart of the Nangwarry community and was a necessity to rebuild.

“The devastating fire that saw the Nangwarry club rooms destroyed saw the club left without a home,” he said.

“I think I speak for everyone in the South East when saying I want to see it rebuilt as quickly as possible.

“That is why I approached the Prime Minister to advocate for funding to help with the rebuild and deliver that funding, fully budgeted, before we go into election mode.

“I am thrilled that my advocacy has been successful and this funding will roll out, guaranteed, before the government goes into caretaker mode.”

The funding will be delivered to the Nangwarry Football Club through the Federal Government’s Community Development Grant fund.
