THIEVES are currently targeting coastal caravan parks and camping spots with fishing rods and both battery and generator-powered portable refrigerators among the items stolen.
Senior Sergeant First Class Rick Errington, officer-in-charge of Millicent police, said thefts of such items had been reported at Southend, Beachport, Nora Creina and Robe.
Sgt Errington said reports of theft increase over holiday periods.
He urged campers to be vigilant and secure their property.
