Mid-summer evening dream set for city rail lands

KOONARA Wines will hold a mid-summer evening dream, bringing its food and wine pop-up bar back to The Rail in Mount Gambier next Friday.

Koonara’s Dru Reschke said the classic food, wine and music set up that has proven popular in the past will return, with a few added touches.

“This year, we’re be debuting our new stemless unbreakable wine glasses,” Mr Reschke said.

“Similar to our original unbreakables, these will be available to keep for $5 on the night.

“It would be great to see some new faces at this event and I hope we can bring the community together providing a fun and relaxed space to meet new people.”

The Side Project will support the event with refreshing local beer and cider brews and a tasty line-up of food trucks will be on site to cater for all needs, including gluten free and vegetarian options.

“As much as we loved rugging up and getting rained on for our winter warmer event last year, nothing really tops a balmy summer’s evening with food, a cold drink in hand, catching up with old friends and making new ones,” Mr Reschke said.

“The kids can be kept busy with face painting and games, so bring a picnic rug and we’ll take care of the rest.”

The event starts at 4pm, with Warrnambool musician Michael Ferguson and Mount Gambier’s own DJ Justin providing entertainment until around 9pm.

A gold coin donation on entry will be donated to the Stand Like Stone Foundation.
