Beachport property goes under hammer

LOOKING FOR BIDS: Millicent Real Estate personnel Bruce Hamilton, Melissa Patzel, Allan Smith and Valerie Jones conducted the successful auction at Beachport on Saturday afternoon.

A BEACHPORT dwelling on three allotments met its reserve price of $290,000 when sold at an on-site auction on Saturday afternoon.

About 60 people turned out to watch the auction which was conducted by Millicent Real Estate.

The firm was acting under the instructions of the Public Trustee which is handling the estate of late Beachport resident John Samuel Crowhurst.

The vacant double-story house is located on the central of the three block and it faces Parklands Terrace and has views of the Southern Ocean.

Freelance auctioneer Allan Smith conducted proceedings and said there was “work to do” but the property “had heaps of potential”.

A Kangaroo Island resident, formerly of Millicent, was the successful bidder and told The South Eastern Times he was acting on behalf of local interests.
