Lioness receives prestigious club award

LIONESS AWARDED: Lioness Club of Mount Gambier member Lyn Fulton is presented with the James D Richardson award by club president Gayle Green.

AS AN early Christmas present, Lioness Lyn Fulton was awarded the James D Richardson Award at the Lioness Club of Mount Gambier’s annual Christmas dinner.

The award was named in honour of James D Richardson, who was the first Australian to serve as director on the board of Lions International and a Lion of enormous talent and willingness to serve.

It can be awarded by a Lion or Lioness club to a member who is considered by the board to be particularly deserving.

Lyn shared this willingness to serve her community when she lived on the Eyre Peninsula and now as a Lioness in Mount Gambier.

She has held positions on the board as vice president, president and treasurer twice.

She is the bulletin editor, membership and record keeper and editor of the booklet she produced for the recent 40th anniversary of the club.

On top of this she manages to be a supportive “Lions lady” to husband Trevor, a devoted mother and grandmother.

Her sense of humour, cheerful disposition and capacity to make the best of any situation very quickly has made her a much loved and appreciated member of the Lioness Club of Mount Gambier.
