A SMALL delegation of Adelaide-based investors originally from China has visited the South East for a two-day tour to explore potential investment opportunities.
The delegation was the second group of investors Mount Gambier City Council has welcomed to the region in as many weeks.
The small group visited NF McDonnell and Sons’ Suttontown mill, AQUAessence, Blue Lake Dairy in Tantanoola and Sky Seafoods in Robe.
“Pushing for regular city meetings with key State Government officers and attending Chinese community events in Adelaide is driving these return regional visits,” Mount Gambier City Council investment manager Bruce Rodda said.
“The four businessmen were looking for investment and exporting opportunities and they were focused on timber, bottled water, beef, milk powder, seafood, skin care products and olive oil.”
He added the delegation explored investment opportunities in the $1m to $5m range.
“The feedback from our visitors was very positive,” Mayor Andrew Lee said.
“I would like to thank our local businesses for taking time out of their busy schedules to show our guests around at their respective facilities.”
Mr Rodda will continue to attract potential investment with presentations to the group in Adelaide over the next fortnight.
