DISTINGUISHED SERVICE: Lions Club of Mount Gambier member Trevor Fulton (left) is presented with a James D Richardson Honour Award by outgoing president Malcolm Laslett.

LIONS Club of Mount Gambier member Trevor Fulton was recognised at the club’s recent annual changeover dinner with a James D Richardson Honour Award.

Outgoing president Malcolm Laslett presented the accolade, which recognises distinguished service to the club and community over a number of years.

Mr Laslett reviewed another successful year of service by the club, with members undertaking more than 130 projects and contributing 3500 voluntary hours.

The club donated a generous $30,000 to community projects.

The Premier’s Volunteer Recognition Awards were presented by Mr Laslett to Lions Steve Bell, Brendon Hirth, Greg Driscoll and Lions lady Marie Driscoll recognising exceptional service.

The leadership baton was passed from Mr Laslett to Lion Trevor Buckell, who was installed by Lion Allen Emery of the Kingston Lions Club.

A highlight of the evening was induction into the club of Chloe Cole, with members delighted to welcome her into their ranks.
