SCHOOLS across the region were filled with the colour orange this week as students and staff displayed respect for cultures by taking part in a national celebration.

Celebrating Harmony Day, Reidy Park Primary School students learnt about the successful integration of migrants in the country, students displayed respect for cultures across the world by taking part in a day of fun activities.

Organised by students, they tried sporting and craft activities which originated in varying countries.

“Each activity will do with a different country so students could go between them and get a stamp on their ‘passport’ once completed,” student leader Luke said.

Wearing the Harmony Day colour of orange to signify social communication and meaningful conversations, students gained a better understanding of what harmony means.

“Hamony Day is about respecting all countries coming together because people from all over the world now live in Australia,” student Thomas said.
