Long-serving council manager retires

RETIREMENT BECKONS: Peter Halton thanks departing Wattle Range Council operations manager Wayne Fennell for his 24 years of service.

Departing Wattle Range Council operations manager Wayne Fennell was recently thanked for his 24 years of service to the council by its engineering director Peter Halton.

Mr Fennell’s career in local government began in the mid-1990s as a member of the outside work crew of the then District Council of Millicent.

Council has yet to appoint a permanent successor to Mr Fennell.
