Winning ticket sold

WINNING TICKET: Foxies Deli owners Brendan and Len Jackson celebrate the sale of a winning lotto ticket recently.

A MYSTERY person who bought a Saturday X Lotto ticket last week at Mount Gambier business Foxies Deli has won a share of $496,000.

The lucky winner bought the ticket as an unregistered entry – leaving owner Len Jackson wondering whether the generous winnings will go to a local or a tourist.

“It would be good to see the money stay in the town but we will just have to wait and see who comes forward,” he said.

This is the second sale of a first division ticket for Mr Jackson at the Commercial Street East business, with a $1.3m ticket sold in 2013 shorter after he took over ownership.

“It’s definitely exciting for us to have sold a winning ticket, the money could go a long way for whoever has won it, whether it be a young person starting out their lives or an older person wanting to enter into retirement early,” he said.

Mr Jackson is yet to hear whether the winner is from Mount Gambier or a lucky tourist visiting the Blue Lake city.
