Majella prepares to wine and dine

DAY OF FOOD AND FUN: Majella Wine's Michael Marcus with its 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon as he gears up for a busy Coonawarra Cabernet month.

COONAWARRA food enthusiasts are invited to start their day with the Balnaves family for a gourmet breakfast roll and sparkling cabernet as part of the 2021 Coonawarra Cabernet events.

Hosted at the Balnaves of Coonawarra cellar door attendees are invited to enjoy their morning feast on the lawn in a picnic style, on the decking or simple take away.

The morning feast will include free range eggs, local smoked bacon, wilted baby spinach and spicy homemade tomato relish in a floured bakery roll with visitors across the region encouraged to come and try.

For lunch patrons are invited to Majella Wines to enjoy music, wines and a taste of paella on the front deck.

Outdoor games will be available for all while they enjoy the afternoon with wine and friends.

Those more serious about their wines may enjoy a visit to the 10 year vertical tasting located in the winery.

Patrons will then be treated to an intimate evening with Katnook Estate’s senior winemaker Natalie Cleghorn and her team in the historic Katnook Stables.

Throughout the evening guests will enjoy five courses prepared by the venue’s highly regarded St Bee’s catering team.

The sumptuous courses will be paired with wines which Ms Cleghorn has personally selected from the winery’s prized museum.

Guests will also have the opportunity to chat with winemakers about the specially curated wines.

To book for the events listed, guests are encouraged to contact each individual winery.
