A SPECTACULAR performance by the talented Jack Howard and the Long Lost Brothers is set to entertain crowds at Raidis Estate this weekend.

On Saturday, Jack and the band will play their original music, plus a few well placed covers, while attendees are able to indulge in Chris Raidis’ renowned Greek charcoal grill.

Jack Howard and The Long Lost Brothers is a who’s who of the Melbourne music scene with Ed Bates on pedal steel, Nicky Del Rey on guitar, Cal McAlpine on drums, Rob Walker on bass and for their trip to Raidis they will be joined by the wonderful Fiona Lee Maynard.

“The music is powerful, bluesy, dark and intimate,” Raidis Estate co-owner Emma Raidis said.

Mr Howard played the trumpet with the mighty Hunters and Collectors for the entire time the band was in existence and toured the world with Midnight Oil as the horn/keyboard/percussion man.

Along the way, Mr Howard has played with Rodriguez, The Violent Femmes, The Living End and a host of others.

In addition, the highly respected musician is the only trumpeter in the ARIA Hall of Fame.

“He has been described as one of the great quiet achievers of Australian music and we are so excited to hear him play,” Ms Raidis said.

When Ms Raidis and her husband Steve opened Raidis Estate eight years ago, they saw to it the tradition was not lost hosting live music events throughout the year, showcasing their wines and the renowned charcoal grill.

“Raidis Estate is as much about the people who enjoy our wines as it is about the wine itself,” Ms Raidis said.

“These events showcase that and allow visitors from all over Australia and the world to get to know the winery and the Coonawarra community.”

The event will start at 6pm.
