INSPIRED by their surroundings, artists Chrissy Pudney and Glenys Hughes have created a series of mixed media works set to be shown at Port MacDonnell.

The duo has pooled their finest work together for an exhbition titled Surroundings, highlighting the region’s rich environment.

Both Chrissy and Glenys share a passion for drawing art inspiration from the environment to nurture their individual art development.

Their shared interests led them to become close friends and supporters of each other’s work, which is often the topic of discussion during their regular meetings.

Chrissy has spent half of 2017 travelling Australia and drawing on available materials and inspiration from the myriad of surroundings the country has to offer.

She has brought together her passion for basketry and ceramics to produce a series of original and sometimes quirky designs for the upcoming Surroundings show.

Glenys is an accomplished textile artist and is offering a collection of her finest hand-dyed silk creations.

She often looks to the ocean, her garden and her home for inspiration, which creates exquisite colour combinations, abundant in this collection.

Surroundings will be on show at the Port MacDonnell Community Complex from tomorrow until February 28.

The centre is open seven days a week, allowing plenty of time for the public to browse the exhibition over summer.
