TANTANOOLA Tiger James Varcoe will run out for his 150th senior game for the club in this week’s round of Mid South East football.

Starting with the Tigers in the juniors, Varcoe claimed the Junior Colts runner-up best and fairest and leading goal kicker, while in 2004 he took home the Senior Colts most consistent honour and played his first A Grade game.

In his first full season of seniors he was a member of the 2006 B Grade premiership and was awarded the best first year player.

A brief stint away from the club and a serious leg injury saw a break in games, but Varcoe was lucky enough to play in three B Grade premierships – two as a captain or vice captain – in four years, between 2013 and 2016, plus a heartbreaking three-point loss in the 2015 preliminary final.

In 2018 Varcoe claimed the B Grade leading goalkicker and 2019 as B Grade coach again claimed the leading goal kicker trophy.

Supported by wife Kristy and children Isla and Nate, the Tantanoola Football Club congratulates Varcoe on his long-awaited milestone.
