Players brave conditions

ROBE Mitre 10 Hardware sponsored social bowls last week with players playing three-bowl pairs, with three two-game winners.

Pat Lynch and John Corbin finished third on 53 points, Rob Lawrie and Doug Baker second on 55 and winners on 56 were David Robinson and Vic Dawson.

Ricken and Judy Bermingham, Carlin and Gazzard and Robe Pharmacy sponsored Robe’s Cos 4’s tournament last Saturday, as 64 players braved the wind.

Third on 69 points was the team of Hiedi Gribble, Dean McKenzie, Peter Beardsley and Darren Grant.

Second on 82 were Jack Vawser, Rod Willmont, Helen Vawser and Janet Lawrie, while the winners on 82 ½ points were Peter Roachock, Max Schultz, Tim Wrightson and Fluer Roachock.

South East Excavations sponsored the Men’s Triples on Sunday with 16 teams entered.

Third on 60.5 points were Steve Farrell, David Riechelt and Neil Whelan, second on 78.5 were Ray Hutchesson, Rex Klassen and Jeff England and the winners were Brad Errock, Wayne Ross and Tony Bolditch with 80.5.
