2017 Harley-Davidson Breakout

FROM the moment Mount Gambier resident Nick White laid eyes on his father in law’s Harley-Davidson, he knew he had to get one.

Mr White has now been the proud owner of a 2017 Harley-Davidson Breakout for just over five months.

Boasting a 103 cubic inch motor, a chin spoiler and additional rear airbag suspension, this machine is any bike lovers’ dream.

Mr White said he customised the suspension himself for a better ride.

“I have been wanting a bike for years and it was just about time to get one,” he said.

“This is my first Harley but I have owned another bike previously but only a learner KTM Duke.

“Going from 200cc to 1700cc is a little bit of a jump.”

Mr White reaches for the bike each day the sun is out.

“Every chance I get I am out on the bike,” he said.

“I will join anyone who wants to go for a ride.

“My wife has also recently bought a Harley so we go riding together.”

Mr White met his partner due to his passion for Harley-Davidsons.

“Before we had even met I was up looking at a bike and she was in the same place too,” he said.

“We ended up meeting and going on our first date at the go-karts.

“I can thank my love of bikes for that.”

Mr White enjoys the lifestyle associated with being a motorcyclist.

“I love that I am able to get out and do something rather than sit at home,” he said.

“I do not want to be doing the same thing every day.

“Every time you ride it, it is something different and you get to explore different places.”

Mr White believes the Breakout model is how a Harley-Davidson should look.

“I love that it is black, and the chrome really stands out,” he said.

“The breakout has a larger rear tire and I think it is how a Harley should look.”

“The way it is now is how I pictured my dream bike to be.”

Mr White said the bike is comfortable although not ideal for longer trips.

He first saw the bike listed on Gumtree.

“It was in June this year throughout the middle of winter when I saw it,” Mr White said.

“The bike has only had one owner and had done 2000km when I first bought it.

“I have only had it three months and have clocked up the same amount.”

Mr White has received recognition for his bike throughout competitions and the community.

“Where ever I go people always stop and have a chat,” he said.

“People come up to me and tell me stories about their bikes.

“I have entered it into two bike shows recently and received first place in both.”
