Gray does it again

EAST Gambier’s Teniille Gray has continued her impressive career with her third straight Western Border netball best and fairest award.

The awards were fittingly handed out at the home of the Bulldogs and Gray topped the leaderboard with 19 votes, just one shy of fellow Bulldog Emily Hunter.

To keep the Bulldogs theme running, Lisa Fyfe finished third in an impressive day for the red and black.

The best Under 21 honours went to Millicent’s Lucy Denton, with most consistent going to fellow Saint Sophie Ellis, who polled votes in all 12 completed rounds.

Elllis also claimed the best and fairest honours in A Reserve, ahead of Casterton Sandford’s Natalie Rhook and North Gambier’s Amanda O’Shaughnessy.

Millicent claimed the most improved and champion club, while the team of the year was handed down, with the best of the best in the association named.

Goals – Caroline Davey, Tenille Gray, Sarah Ritter.

Mid-court – Lucy Denton, Lisa Duldig, Emily Hunter, Tarsh McCallum.

Defence – Bo Creek, Lisa Fyfe, Maddie Whaites.

Congratulations were handed out for 200 games to Casterton Sandford’s Haylee Rhook, plus for 300 games to North Gambier’s Alisha Bryan and Casterton Sandford’s Natalie Rhook.

Other awards

B Grade: Best and fairest Jackie Sunderland (Millicent); runner-up Charlene Riley (South Gambier).

C Grade: Best and fairest Krystal Coghlan (Millicent); runner-up Sapphire Sims (Millicent).

17 and Under: Best and fairest Lucy Denton (Millicent); runner-up Sarah Ritter (West Gambier).

15 and Under A: Best and fairest Lillie Paul (Millicent); runner-up Leila Croker (West Gambier).

15 and Under B: Best and fairest Indi Longhurst (Casterton Sandford); runner-up Phoebe Carlin (Casterton Sandford).

13 and Under A: Best and fairest Piper Paul (Millicent); runner-up Katie Kerr (East Gambier).

13 and Under B: Joint best and fairest Georgia Nulty (North Gambier) and Tahnee Grosser (Millicent); runner-up Tahni Kemp (East Gambier).
