A JOYOUS way to approach the coming Christmas season has been provided by the Millicent Choral Society.

It presented “Coffee, Cake and Carols” last Sunday afternoon at the Millicent Uniting Church hall.

As well as the 20 choristers, the two-hour performance featured 15 ukulele-playing members of Ukestra SE as well as a light-hearted look at Christmas traditions by Doris Bleby.

The food and beverages were also appreciated by the gathering of 70.

There were 12 traditional and modern carols sung by the Millicent Choral Society.

Musical director Mike Bleby also invited the audience to sing along with four all-time favourites.

Choral society president and singer Fay Richards said the afternoon was a success.

“As in past years, we were able to make a donation to the Christmas Bowl,” Ms Richards said.
