GRANT District Council has praised the Natural Resources South East Coastal Connections program, which ended recently.
Showcasing the natural wonders of the coast and marine environment, the two week program boasted a number of activities at Piccaninnie Ponds, Port MacDonnell, Southend, Beachport, Robe and Kingston.
“My grandchildren attended a few of the activities and they loved it,” Councillor Gill Clayfield said at council’s January meeting.
“They cater to a wide range of age groups with different activities and the program seems to have been very well received.”
Mayor Richard Sage said he was aware funding for the program would be discontinued beyond 2018.
“I know that funding runs out this year,” he said.
“We will put some applications forward to get that happening right across the region again next year.”
