Band members awarded

LIFE MEMBER: Tony Bolton was awarded life membership and the best overall effort award by Graham Marks at the recent Mount Gambier City Band awards last weekend.

THE Mount Gambier City Band recently held its annual awards presentations following a successful Blue Lake Brass Band Festival.

All awards were presented by the band’s longest serving life member and mentor Graham Marks.

A number of Waawor Development Band players were recognised for their continuous efforts and dedication to their craft.

Plenty of medals were handed to players of all ages and those who stood out were awarded trophies.

The most improved player award was presented to Katelyn Bowering after showing remarkable improvement throughout the year, while the all-round effort award was claimed by Annabelle Mossford-MacGregor.

For the Mount Gambier City Band, Sarah Mossford-MacGregor was highlighted as the most improved band member while both Georgina Farrugia and Jarrod Harrison were recognised with outstanding player awards.

This year’s Percy Marks Junior Bandperson of the Year Award was handed to Christopher Mossford-MacGregor while the bandperson of the year award was presented to dedicated performer Matt Jones.

Long-serving treasurer Tony Bolton received the all-round effort award and was also recognised with life membership to the organisation.
