YOUNG Mount Gambier ballerinas will have the opportunity to perform as part of a professional production when the Melbourne City Ballet visits the region this month.
As part of the company’s South Australian tour of The Nutcracker, each performance will provide emerging performers the chance to audition for a role in the ballet.
The company invites dancers with basic ballet skills, both male and female, aged between 9 and 12, to participate in the audition and community workshops.
The company has various roles to be filled for the production.
Dancers will learn the choreography as part of the workshop and those successful will be given further detailed information about the show.
Auditions will be held at the theatre on December 23 at 3.30pm ahead of the company’s performance later that evening.
The audition will also include participation in the community workshop, which is priced at $15 per person.
