Casterton child care centre recognised

CASTERTON’S Kathleen Millikan Centre (KMC) has received formal recognition for its efforts in promoting healthy eating, oral health and physical activity as part of a statewide achievement program.

Receiving two icons as part of the Victorian Government’s Achievement Program, KMC senior educator Toni Jackson said it was a great accomplishment for the centre and assures families they have access to quality care and education services.

“It is always exciting for the educators, families and children when they are awarded for their achievements,” she said.

Participating schools, early childhood services and workplaces are guided through a framework of continuous planning, action and review to address eight health priority areas.

Once the service provider achieves the benchmarks set for the health priority area, they are eligible to receive an icon.
