VETERAN Tantanoola footballer Alec Roberts is set to take on Hatherleigh this weekend for the 100th senior game of his career.

Roberts’ talent became prominent at a young age in the Junior Colts, when he was awarded Best and Fairest in 2015.

He backed it up when he moved up the ranks to Senior Colts in 2016, which was where he managed to win the Coaches trophy.

In 2017, Roberts outstanding performance in his first A Grade game earnt him the title of the Senior Colts Most Consistent.

He finished off his junior career in 2018, playing two games a week and winning the Senior Colts Best and Fairest.

Moving into senior football, Roberts continued to play with no fear, which was once again recognised with the Bill James Most Courageous in 2021 and 2022.

He was also the recipient of the Con Brown Memorial Best Under 21 in 2021.

Roberts has continued his streak as a quick, hard running player who attacks the ball hard.

He continues to demonstrate his superb tackling skills while also being able to take big grabs at the ball.

He has always had the respect of his peers both on and off the field but is also a favourite amongst the kids, as he has coached the Under 11’s for the past couple of seasons.

Roberts has continued helping the club where needed, with a strong love for any kind of social event.

The Tantanoola Football Club wished Roberts all the best for in his 100th senior game and hoped there would many more to come in the red and white.
