ROBE 77 D NANGWARRY 18

ROBE claimed a big 59-goal win over Nangwarry in Round 14 of Mid South East netball on Saturday.

Nangwarry’s defence provided strong hands in the goal ring with ample rebounds.

However, Robe’s pressure through a mid-court press created by Annie Regnier and Lucy Perkins proved to be relentless.

Their consistent feeds into goalies Sarah Laurie and Demi Carter allowed Robe to take a commanding lead, finishing the first quarter with a score of 19 to Nangwarry’s 4.

Robe made a key transition at the first break, with Ash Wachtel coming on at goal attack, creating space, speed and presenting well in the goal circle.

An injury to Michelle Richardson saw a substitution, followed by a tactical adjustment.

Robe Regnier capitalised on turnovers in the mid-court, while Nangwarry’s wing attack Shandeen Balshaw drove hard at the ball, helping to transition the ball to Kayla Gray at goal shooter.

Despite Nangwarry’s efforts, Robe’s Emillie Gould and Alannah Jennings held up a strong defensive front to extend the lead to 22 goals at the main break.

Robe continued its strong performance in the third term, with Carter moving into goal shooter.

Robe’s control over turnovers and drives from Wachtel were significant, while an injury to Nangwarry’s Circelli further impacted the Saints’ performance.

Nangwarry’s determination was evident as they managed to get turnovers while the ball was being fed into the Robe goal circle.

Despite this, Robe’s consistency and defensive turnovers helped them maintain their dominance.

In the end the Roosters claimed a 59-goal win.

Best players for Robe were Gould and Jennings, while Scarlett Black and Richardson were best for Nangwarry.
