TANTANOOLA 45 D KONGORONG 31

TANTANOOLA claimed a hard-fought victory on a windy Saturday against a determined Kongorong in Round 13 of Mid South East netball.

The first quarter was even, with both sides lacking a little accuracy with shooting as they

worked with the wind.

Kongorong settled first with the first three goals, but Tantanoola got found its groove and ended the quarter in front by three goals.

The second quarter was all Tantanoola, with sisters Jami and Casey Walker working well in and around the goal circle, which saw Jami shoot a consistent nine goals for the quarter.

Kongorong failed to capitalise on some hard work by its defence, with Emily Lightbody and Rach Perry leaving them with some work to do for the second half of the game.

The third quarter saw Kongorong a lot more settled with its defence once again working hard to create turnovers.

There were many even tussles down the court which saw both teams shooting 10 goals for the quarter, but still leaving the Tigers with a 12-goal lead.

Once again it was an even game for the last quarter.

Kongorong made a few changed to mix things up and the Hawks defence worked hard in another even quarter, but the Tigers held on in a well-deserved victory.

Best players for Tantanoola were Sophie Bellman and Jami Walker, with Lightbody and Rahni Janeway best for Kongorong.
