THE Mount Gambier Golf Club provided a wet and chilly morning for the 16 intrepid women who played in the third round of the Hudson Plumbing and Roofing stableford competition.

The weather played a role in the number of players as well as the scores as there was little run to be had.

Helen Heaver (21 handicap), recently in good form, took the honours with 34 points despite two wipes on the back nine.

She had pars on the first, eighth, 10th and 17th holes.

A little further behind was Di Norman (22) on 31 points.

She had two even rounds of 50, with pars on the third and sixth holes.

Indya Homes (34) also had 31 points, with one wipe on the 13th hole.

The special prizes went to Mardi Goodes for her nearest the pin second shot for C grade, NTP second shot for A Grade went to Janina Morrison and NTP on the eighth was a classy shot by the ever-reliable Helen Gregory.

On Saturday Jess Parson’s claimed the winner’s prize in the Peter Dempsey women’s par competition.
