PURPLE Thunder Cheerleading attended its first competition for the 24 season last week at the CheerCon IceBreaker event.

The event attracted more than 1,600 athletes from across South Australia, with seven teams attending from Mount Gambier.

That included ages ranging from five years old to adult.

Starlite finished first out of five teams plus they Hit Zero – made no mistakes or deduction – and won an “At Large Bid” to the finals to be held in Orlando, Florida after the Worlds 2025 competition. 

Warriors won their division out of three teams plus won an “At Large Bid” to the finals in Florida.

Warriors also won Bronze Grand Champions.

Grand Champions honours equates to the highest scoring routines.

Lightning finished first out of three teams and won an “At Large Bid” to the finals.

Hurricane finished fourth out of nine teams with an amazing routine in a tough division.

Storm claimed the win from three teams and won an “At Large Bid” to the finals.

Flames finished first and won an “At Large Bid” to the finals.

They also won Gold Grand Champions
