Inter shows the way

INTERNATIONAL Soccer Club sits proud at the pointy end of the Limestone Coast men’s soccer ladder after chalking up a 5-3 win over Gambier Centrals on the weekend.

Centrals claimed the early lead thanks to a goal from Jake Blackwell in the fourth minute, but Inter was quick to respond.

Sam Bueti scored the equaliser for Inter in the sixth minute, before Charles Kirby added the second 15 minutes later.

However, three minutes later Alexander Obedi scored for Centrals and the game was tied up again.

Yellow cards were handed out to Centrals’ Brodey Koop and Inter’s Hayden Cutting, before Bueti added his second in the 33rd minute to again put his side clear.

Unfortunately ann own-goal to Inter saw scores again tied at the half-time break.

Several yellow cards were handed out in the second half and Lachlan Charlton scored for Inter early in the half to take a one-goal lead.

While Centrals pushed hard, they were unable to close the margin and late in the contest Bueti scored his third for the day to five Inter a two-goal victory.

BLUE LAKE 3 D APOLLO 2

Blue Lake claimed a hard-fought victory over Apollo after a goal on the stroke of full time.

An early yellow card was handed to Blue Lake’s Saw Nai and it took 16 minutes for the first score of the game to come.

Eh Hsa Poe scored for Apollo, but mid-way through the half Shar Nay Than scored for Blue Lake and scores were tied up.

Eh Hsa Poe then scored his second goal prior to half time and Apollo went to the break with a 1-0 lead.

Gay Nay Say Ler then scored for Blue Lake in the 73rd minute to again tie the game up, before Shar Nay Than’s goal in the 89th minute provided the one-goal victory.
