HATHERLEIGH 28.13 (181) D GLENCOE 9.7 (61)

GLENCOE was never in the contest when the Murphies travelled to Hatherleigh to face the Eagles in Round 10 of Mid South East football on Saturday.

The writing was on the wall after the opening term, where the Eagles kicked seven goals and four behinds, to Glencoe’s one goal, two behinds.

The 38-point margin put the Murphies on notice, but there was little they could do to stop the carnage.

After the first break the Eagles continued to pound the Murphies into submission, with six goals in the second term for a 58-point lead at the long break.

It would take a monumental effort for the Murphies to get back into the game and the Eagles were not about to leave anything to chance.

Another six-goal quarter followed and despite an 80-point advantage at the final break, the Eagles upped the anti in the final term.

Nine major scores to the Murphies’ two iced the game and kept the Eagles undefeated at the top of the ladder.

Sam Telfer was in impressive form up forward, finishing with seven goals.

Tom Hutchesson, Brad Mitchell and Jed Telfer contributed five goals each, while Patrick Chay added two.

For Glencoe, Alex Hentschke kicked three goals, while Matt Cordy and Patrick Mitchell kicked two each.
