INTERNATIONAL v BLUE LAKE

BLUE Lake will be out to impress when visiting International for Round 8 of Limestone Coast women’s soccer on Sunday.

The Rangers sit in third position currently and will want to return to the pointy end after some recent losses.

They played Inter back in Round 2 and claimed a 1-0 win, indicating it could be another arm wrestle.

However, Inter has not yet notched up a win this campaign, with two draws the best results for the reigning premiers.

Blue Lake will enter as favourite and should get the job done.

The match kicks off at 1pm.

MILLICENT v APOLLO

Apollo makes the trip up to Millicent on Saturday and will chase an eighth consecutive victory.

Currently the side is undefeated in 2024 and shows no signs of slowing down.

Millicent sits in second place and will have an upset on its mind, having shown strong form in recent rounds.

Their last encounter was a tight 1-0 win to Apollo, with a first-half goal to Demi Ingley deciding the result.

Despite its ladder position, Millicent drew with bottom-placed Naracoorte last round.

An improved performance will be expected this week, but it is difficult to tip against Apollo at this stage.

GAMBIER CENTRALS v NARACOORTE

Last time Gambier Centrals and Naracoorte met in the senior women’s soccer competition the former claimed a 2-1 victory.

Another close battle could be on the cards, but since then Centrals has notched up another three wins, while the best Naracoorte has mustered was a draw to International.

Back in Round 2 Andi Corfield and Kiah Connoly were the goal scorers for the Lions.

Sophie Hole scored for Naracoorte and will be out to do so again, but it looks as though Centrals will enter as the favourite.

They will play at MGA Park on Saturday at 2pm.
