AFTER a weekend off for the Easter break, Limestone Coast women’s football resumes this Sunday for its preliminary finals.

There will be two games played on the day, both at Casterton’s Island Park.

Kongorong and South Gambier open proceedings in the B preliminary final, followed by the main game between Mundulla and Kybybolite.

The Hawks will enter as favourite in the first game, having bested the Demons by 54 points in their minor round meeting.

Kongorong has plenty of talent in its ranks, including but not limited to runner-up league best and fairest Evie Sealey and joint best defender Sarah Lucas.

The likes of Zara Dirk, Tilah and Riley Buckingham and Eadie Mustart are also names of note but the entire team will work hard towards booking themselves a place in the consolation grand final.

Over at South the Demons enter the clash off a strong performance over Millicent.

However, they will have a tough task in front of them this weekend.

Captain Jarrah Altschwager has been a focal point throughout the season, while the likes of Sophie Wight, Ella Guest and Abby Thompson are other players to watch.

South has improved as the competition unfolds, but Kongorong will likely take the win and progress to the B grand final against Penola.

The A series preliminary final will have Mundulla and Kybybolite go head-to-head.

Mundulla would have been disappointed to lose its first game for the year in the qualifying final against North Gambier.

As such the northern Tigers will be out for redemption this weekend and it is likely Kyby will suffer their wrath.

Until that nail-biting final, Mundulla was untouchable in 2024 and will be hungry for a big win this Sunday.

However, the last time the sides met Kyby managed to limit Mundulla to three goals.

Despite only scoring five points itself on the occasion, Kyby would take confidence from its defensive efforts.

The likes of Dellie Brown, Jedah Huff, Taylor Ryan and Elle Treloar are all in good form, while there is plenty of talent throughout Kyby’s list.

Mundulla is not lacking in talent either, with few weaknesses across the ground.

Erin Horsnell carves up around the contest, while Zoe Hawker, Kellsie Turner and Kelsey Batt are others who carry form into the clash.

Intensity levels will be high, but it would be the upset of the season if Mundulla was to lose this one and miss out on a rematch against North next week.
