A STRONG field of 74 shooters participated in Lake Bonney Sporting Clays’ February 75-target handicap event.

The shoot was sponsored by Collins Court Butchers, Bowman’s Earthmovers and Landscapes and Millicent Tyre Centre.

The conditions were warm, with the wind picking up in the middle of the day, making it necessary for competitors and course setters to make adjustments.

There were four shooters who handled the conditions well, with 25/25 shot by Danny Bellinger, Jeremy Kent, Mark Hogan and Declan Wright.

Wright’s perfect round helped him secure the top spot in AA Grade, while second and third placings were decided by a count-back, with Mick Banning taking out second ahead of Bellinger in third.

Kingston shooter Bruce Parker won A Grade, just one target ahead of Bill Dyson, with Warren Whitehead in third.

B Grade went to Peter Cook, with another count-back placing Robin Smith second and Michael Gates third.

Zach Oakley claimed the win in C Grade, with a count-back needed to place Luke Rainsford second and Rob VanStanten third.

Seniors was won by Tony Sellars, ahead of South East shooter Chris Wright.

The Veterans grade went to Gary Dangerfield, ahead of Graeme James and Neville Kent.

The Ladies grade was won by Charlotte Devaud, from Bec Kober and Bernie Peters.

Reece Fleming took out the Juniors grade with no competition, while Sub Juniors was won by Heath Johnston, from Ethan Vearing and Jack Dyson.
