Strong competition at Bordertown

A STRONG field of 27 shooters enjoyed some competition at the Bordertown Gun Club on the weekend, with perfect conditions for shooting.

First event – 50 Tgt Double Barrel Championship sponsored by Tatiara Seeds, Bordertown. Possibles to Bob Andrews, Ash Hawker, Wayne Hawker, Gavin Height and Brock Hawker.

John Hawker and Richard Wheaton 49/50.

After shooting another 50 in the shoot-off, Ash Hawker and Height decided to share Overall honours.

Overall and AA: Ash Hawker and Gavin Height 100/100.

A: Brock Hawker 76/77, John Hawker 49/50.

B: Richard Wheaton 49/50, Peter Winser 48/50.

C: Tim Downing 47/53, Mitchell Stibbard 46/53.

Second event – 25 Pair Double Rise sponsored by P and J Baulch, Baulch Contracting, Camperdown.

Third event – 20 Pair Deauville Doubles, drawn partners, shot off 20 metre mark, sponsored by Bordertown Stone Supplies.

Two pairs – Gavin Height and Oliver Jewell, along with Brock Hawker and George Karageorgis shot 19/20.

Four pairs – Ash Hawker and Peter Winser, Kane Hawker and Richard Wheaton, Steve Chambers and Nick Rishworth, plus John Hawker and Bob Atkinson shot 18/20.

First – Gavin Height and Oliver Jewell 23/24: Second – Brock Hawker and George Karageorgis 22/24: Third – Ash Hawker and Peter Winser 34/36: Fourth – Kane Hawker and Richard Wheaton 33/36.

The club’s next shoot will be held on Sunday, February 25, which includes a 50 target Double Barrel Championship and 50 target Eastern Zone Handicap.

Practice is from 10.15am, with an 11am competition start.
