THE Mount Gambier Lakers women finished the Country Basketball League minor rounds in third place after a solid 94-70 win over Colak Kookas on Saturday night.

Despite some players missing from the roster, the Lakers were in good touch and began to build a handy lead early.

By the first break the margin was five points favouring the Lakers, then extended to nine by half time.

The third term saw the Lakers all-but put the game to bed as they further extended the margin to 19 points.

While the final stanza was a little more subdued, the Lakers still added a further five points to the margin to run out convincing winners.

Tenielle Human showed her hot hand with 24 points, Emily Dawe hit 21 and Mikaela Horrigan 13, while Nikeisha Facey and Casey Horrigan contributed 12 each.
