THE Millicent Magic women are in a fight for fourth place on the Country Basketball League ladder as the final minor round kicks plays out.

The Magic currently sit in fourth position, with the third-placed Horsham in third and the Mount Gambier Lakers in fifth.

All three sides have chalked up four wins so far, and all sit in a precarious spot.

The Magic hit the road to take on Horsham in what should be an exciting spectacle.

Horsham has two games to finish its season and will not want to drop either one.

However, the Hornets face the top-placed Warrnambool Mermaids on Saturday, before backing up against the Magic on Sunday.

Last time the Magic faced the Hornets they went down by nine points in a game with at least one notable exclusion – Alana Berkefeld.

Berkefeld was back last week against the Lakers, but could not stop the Mount Gambier girls from claiming the win.

In that last clash with the Hornets, Mackenzie Burke topped the scoresheets for the Magic with 14 points, while Poppy Venn also reached double figures with 11.

after last week’s loss to the Lakers, the Magic will need to bounce back and claim a win to give themselves a chance of remaining in playoff contention.
