THE Mount Gambier Racing Club will hold its annual Twilight Christmas race meeting today, Friday, December 1, at the Allan Scott Glenburnie Racecourse.
With gates opening at 1pm, all the racing action is anticipated to kick off around 2:40pm, with race 1.
Mount Gambier Racing Club manager Brett Watson said the club expects a positive turnout for the signature event.
“We have 143 horse nominations at this stage across eight races and bookings for the upstairs function area have been strong,” he said.
General admission tickets are still available online or at the gate providing access to the Good Tides Seltzer Garden with the Brookvale Union bar and a DJ.
“Come along and enjoy an afternoon and evening trackside with entertainment, local food and wine and of course top quality racing,” Watson said.
“This is an ideal event for Christmas or end-of-year function, so we look forward to seeing good crowd numbers trackside.
“Following a nine-week break in racing, the track is in fantastic shape and with Friday’s weather forecast looking fine, we are looking forward to a great event.”
