THE golf attire made way for the glitter on the weekend, as the Blue Lake Golf Club hosted its annual presentation night at a gala event on Friday night.

Celebrating all who had achieved personal acclaim, the club also recognised those who had gone above and beyond in their support of the club.

Perhaps the most prestigious of those awards was the club person of the year and this year it was split between husband and wife team, Helen and Phil Myers.

Both live and breathe the club, with Phil, who does not even play golf, spending up to 40 hours per week volunteering his time helping out the greenskeeping staff.

Helen has served as board committee person and women’s captain and still helps with the set up and running of some of the women’s events.

The club is immensely proud to be able to present awards in recognition of past players and families who invested into making it as strong as it is today.

The Sparrow Family Award was won by Brett Perryman, while the John Scotland Award for most promising junior went to Jorja Morale.

The Bob Mullane Award was won by Dan Christian and the Medal of Medals by Jesse Foster.

Monthly medal winners, Hole in One winners, Championship winners and other award winners were all presented with their prizes helping culminate another very successful year in the 40-year history of the club.
