KONGORONG v ROBE

THE Roosters will have a point to prove when they visit Kongorong this week.

Robe’s impressive start to the season has come to somewhat of a halt over recent weeks.

Injuries have contributed to four losses on the trot and has dropped the former ladder leaders down to third.

Without a convincing win against the Hawks the Roosters could find themselves in fourth after the weekend, leaving plenty to play for.

George Dutton comes off a best-on-ground performance in the disappointing one-point loss to Glencoe.

New recruit Henry Lawrie has been a standout for Robe this season and also enters the round off a solid game.

He has featured among the best players in 12 of his 13 games, while Dutton has also been consistent with nine mentions from 10 appearances.

Joel Bryant has been the main goal kicker with 20 for the season, but the Roosters have relied on a wide spread of contributors.

Kongorong has been a different story and the Hawks’ are no chance for finals football.

They have just one win for the season, which came against Glencoe back in Round 4.

Cameron Sandercock put in a five-goal performance in their last outing, while the likes of Lennox Lewis, Matt Cordy and Ethan Norman have shown good form of late.

Regardless, it is difficult to mount a case for the hosts this round and Robe should break its losing streak with a good win.
