Top of the table clashes under lights

GAME ON: Zoe Brooksby and April Hockey will face-off on Friday night in a top of the table clash in the Limestone Coast Women's Premier League.

A BLOCKBUSTER weekend of soccer awaits in Round 11 of the men’s and women’s Limestone Coast Premier League.

The round will be headlined by two top of the table clashes between rivals Apollo and International at Casadio Park on Friday night.

Action will kick-off under lights at 6pm when the ladder-leading Apollo women will face-off against the in-form second-placed Inter women.

These two sides have met twice this year, with Apollo winning the first game 1-0, then the second 2-1.

Following the women’s clash, Inter and Apollo will face-off in the men’s Premier League game, which kicks off at 7.45pm.

This game is one not to be missed, with both sides tied at the top of the ladder with 25 points.

However, Inter holds the ascendancy thanks to a goal-difference which is 61 goals superior to Apollo’s.

Looking at the previous fixtures between these two, the boys in black and blue claimed an emphatic 7-0 win at Casadio Park in the first meeting, but Apollo hit back to win 2-1 the second time around.

As for the rest of the round, the Blue Lake women will travel to Millicent on Saturday afternoon, with action kicking off at 2pm.

Then on Sunday, Gambier Centrals will host the Naracoorte women at 11.45 in the morning before the men take to the pitch at 3.10pm and Millicent will play Blue Lake at McLaughlin Park at 3pm.
