NANGWARRY V PORT MACDONNELL

With a breakthrough victory in the 2022 Mid South East football season, everything looked good for Nangwarry to go one better in 2023.

a big name in Dane Swan pulled on the Saints colours for the opening clash but it did little to change the face of the season.

The first game saw a big loss to Mount Burr, then the season panned out much the same as recent years, until Round 8 where a win over Kongorong was secured.

There is still time and a couple of opportunities to secure another victory in 2023, but not against the top-placed Port MacDonnell this weekend.

Back in Round 5 Andrew Hyland kicked five majors for the Saints, but Demons coach Josh Woodall and big man Will MacDonald both kicked five, then the list of multiple scorers stretch on.

The last loss to the Demons was back in Round 9 to Hatherleigh, but other than that they have looked solid.

Colby Munro may even have the chance to close the margin to Mount Burr’s Jack Gregory at the top of the goal-kicking ladder, with just three majors separating the two sharp shooters.

Either way it should be a big win for the Demons.
