Chilton wins in count-back

THERE were 19 women who competed in cold but sunny conditions for a stableford event in the Heather Walker Memorial trophy at the Millicent Golf Club last week.

The A Grade contest went right down to the wire and after 18 holes, Helen Chilton and Bronwyn Clarke were tied for top spot with 35 points each.

After a count-back, Chilton claimed victory to continue her impressive string of form.

Heather Anderson put in a solid display to take home the honours in B Grade with 34 points.

She also claimed the win in the nine-hole competition with 20 points on the front nine.

Julie McKenzie was runner-up in B Grade with a score of 31.

Karen McGregor, Robyn Walters and Debbie Tincknell were the ball winners, while Virginia DeDonatis, Karen Altschwager and Liz Redman were the nearest to pin winners.
