TANTANOOLA held on against a determined Nangwarry to claim the premiership points in Round 12 of Mid South East football.

While it was a comfortable 31-point victory in the end, the Saints were never too far away and continued to push for the full four quarters.

A tardy start for the Saints saw four scoring shots yield just nine points, while at the other end, the Tigers were accurate, with three straight majors for the quarter for the early lead.

The Tigers lifted somewhat in the second term to extend their lead to 22 points heading into the long break, with all on track to run out the contest.

However, the Saints showed some extra intent in the third quarter, banging on four majors while the Tigers added just three.

While that reduced the margin, it was not enough to set up a final-quarter charge, as Tantanoola continued to pepper the goals, with nine scoring shots for two goals and seven behinds.

Cam Saint was the go-to guy in front of goals, with four majors to his name, while Corey Baker and coach Jack Dawe chipped in with two each.
