ROBE turned on some wet and windy weather for Round 9 of Mid South East netball, which made for a difficult day on the court.

However, the Roosters came out strong with some great pressure from Georgia Perkins and Emma Grant in defence, holding Nangwarry to only five goals for the first quarter, while Robe’s Demi Carter and Tori Gluyas scored eight goals each.

Robe made a change at quarter time, bringing Halle Carter into goal attack and Gluyas taking the bench.

The Carter sisters combined well in the circle and Demi Carter shot accurately, scoring 17 goals for the quarter, with some precision passing from Robe’s mid-court, Lucy Perkins and Annie Regnier.

With Nangwarry only scoring three goals for the quarter, the score was 39-8 at half time.

Robe made more changes at half time with Demi Carter taking the bench and Gluyas on at goal shooter.

Nangwarry’s Cassie Dinnison worked hard at wing attack, directing play in the attack line and driving well onto the circle.

However, Robe’s defensive pressure down the court really stepped and they capitalised on their turnovers.

The final quarter saw Robe making more changes, with Demi Carter going back into goal shooter and Gluyas to goal attack, Ellen Ramke to goal defence and Halle Cater to wing defence, while Grant took the bench.

Nangwarry saw Ella Jones come on at wing defence and Scarlett Black taking the bench.

Once again Demi Carter and Gluyas combined well in the goal circle for Robe and the defensive pressure down the court saw lots of turnovers from Robe’s mid court.

Best players for Robe were Hunter and Perkins, while best for Nangwarry were Chrystal Lock, Claire Ferguson.
